ABOUT.

Reset Scenery was founded in 2018 by Matthew Doolan and Simon Cook, bringing over 45 years of combined technical and scenic construction experience into circular material practice.

Established to address the linear “take–make–waste” use of scenery, we have spent the past eight years developing practical, deployable circular solutions for the creative industries.

Mission

Our mission is to embed circular practice into scenic production through practical, measurable action.

Through clearances, material recovery, impact reporting and research into alternative construction methods and materials, we extend the life of scenic resources across stage, screen and events.

Alongside this, we support wider shifts in industry practice through consultancy, training and strategic guidance — helping production teams rethink how materials are planned, used and recovered.

Vision

We envision future stage, screen and event productions treating scenic materials as ongoing resource rather than short-term assets.

Our circular production model defines how materials transition from strike through recovery and back into future builds — reducing waste, lowering embodied carbon and delivering measurable circular outcomes.

Embedding Circular Practice

Changing production practice requires collaboration across design, build and strike.

If you are looking to integrate circular thinking into upcoming work, we would welcome a conversation.
